NAME: Romulus 'Rome' Hart
CANON: Original

OC BLURB: Rome is a werewolf who operates in a werewolf-handler pair for the military of his city-state. This task often means culling other supernatural beings. He was implanted with the virus as an infant and has been raised more as an attack dog than as a human. His specific brand of werewolfism has an impact on his human mental and social development: he's straightforward, loyal to a fault, and doesn't interpret nuance very well.

RELATIONSHIPS: Will be difficult. m/m preferred.

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Will not know what to do with it. Expect flinching, no response, or subtly moving away.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Totally fine. He knows his way around a fight, with supernaturally heightened senses, as well as inhuman strength and speed. He's not godmode however, and exists more on the level of 'special ops but better' than he does on any extreme supernatural fighting ability.

MEDICAL INFORMATION: In human form, he has heightened senses - particularly smell - and above average strength and speed. He is also colorblind. In wolf form, he's just a fuckin wolf. Awoo.

Rome is also in his seventies, though you know, werewolf sparkly magic has him looking much younger. His lifespan can go to several hundred years if he's not killed earlier.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: He's a brainwashed soldier who 100% drinks the koolaid and believes he is subhuman. He's also fine with that, and doesn't really like when people are weird about it.

OC LORE: Rome lives in a world that is majority human, but supernatural beings do exist. In order to better protect citizens from threats both in and outside of city walls, the military began experimentation with harnessing the werewolf gene to create superhuman soldiers. After the first batch failed due to the wolves becoming more strongly bonded to one another, the second batch introduced the concept of werewolf-handler pairs.

Rome's first handler was distinguished in the military and saw him as little more than an attack dog. After sixty-someodd years of conditioning, his handler eventually died of natural causes, leaving Rome to be reassigned to a young, idealistic soldier. His second handler treated him as more of a friend, which was... very confusing. Handler #2 died traumatically only 3 years into the assignment, in a way that Rome would sooner never speak of again. He's currently on his third assignment, with a handler who treats him as more like a partner. Also confusing, but less sentimental, so... probably for the best.

After some recent campaigning, Rome and the remaining werewolves of his batch have been allowed to live in the city among humans, where he operates as mostly... just a normal guy. His handler currently works to help him integrate a bit better with society as a whole, and there's a lot to learn about just being around people.

PERSONALITY: Because he was altered so shortly after birth, Rome is very in touch with his animalistic side, which results in him being less in touch with his human side. He's ruthlessly pragmatic, and his morality can be shocking to others - for example, he would easily make the decision to kill one person to save two, even if that one person is a child. He's straightforward to a fault and blunt in a way that can often be seen as offensive.

When loyalty is earned (or commanded), Rome is unquestionably yours, and will do some truly awful things in the name of following orders - mostly because he believes that any order given by a trusted human supersedes his own judgement. Humans know better than him, after all!

But he does care for people. He tries in little ways to help or protect others, and is generally a decent person outside of crazy military brainwashing. He loves nature and when he's not in Soldier Orders mode, he regards life with a muted awe. He's the sort of guy to grow a little garden and he enjoys being around people, even if sometimes they're very difficult to understand.

ADAPTING: Happy to AU him into any world. He slots pretty easily into modern/supernatural/etc anywhere where werewolves exist.
