Are you absolutely certain, Gau? I do not doubt you in the slightest, but if I'm going to pursue this, I need you to be very sure. Her handler denies her leaving the home on that date. Calling him a liar would not be wise unless I had facts, evidence.

[He knew he was telling everything that he saw truthfully and without any sort of hesitation, but... was what he was told truthful? The boy paused for a minute to think this nugget of doubt over-]

Lily-san said she was in danger, and I recall hearing gunfire, but at the same time... She refused any immediate help and instructed me to target the vampire, for all her claims of being in danger! If there are conflicting sources then she may be lying, but I am certain that she told me that the vampire I reported earlier was attacking her!

[He sighs.]

[It took him 15 minutes to write that, given how shaky his hands were and blurry his vision was, and all he could do was lay on his bed and pray that Rome understood what it meant.]

[Rome isn't going to bother with a return text- as soon as he gets the message, he bounds home immediately, rushing through the front door and up to Gau's room.]

Gau! Are you injured? Your illness-

[As Rome charges through the door, the most energy Gau can spare is weakly moving his head from a sweat soaked pillow. He's panting desperately, yet that smile is still plastered on his face- it's more of a grimace than anything at this point.]

Unohana-s-san's... I think I might...

[He has to regain himself with more heavy breathing before he can speak again.]

Alright. Please, stay with me.

[He obviously can't move himself there, and Rome knows that he'd do far better at the clinic where he can be under constant supervision, than he would do here, where Unohana could only visit.

So he moves toward the small boy, trying to wipe some of the sweat from his brow before gently reaching around him to pick him up.]

Tell me if I'm causing you pain. I will transport you there as quickly as I am able.

[Gau knew that to say anything more would be a waste of his rapidly declining energy. Though the hands wrapping around him did hurt his aching body ever so slightly, he instead put his energy into weakly wrapping his arms around Rome's neck, and resting his head in the crook of the man's neck.

Though Gau was light normally, it was clear in picking him up that he was too thin, a result of the fever- it was high enough to feel the heat from the slight touch of his skin alone.]

[Rome knows it's serious- and he wishes he had been able to say something sooner. To be honest, this entire week has been a huge distraction so far, and it's kept him from seeing that Gau needed his help. He's angry with himself for that, but... this isn't the time for it.

He's going to move and deliver the boy to the clinic as quickly as he can, without jarring too much. Hopefully, Unohana will know what to do.]
